We are looking for a highly skilled Pizzaiolo, based in Geneva, to join our restaurant team. The 200-seat restaurant is a self-service cafeteria with various food stations, including a pizza station.
The Pizzaiolo will be responsible for preparing high-quality pizzas that meet the Executive Chef's standards, and ensuring that the station is sanitary and well-stocked. The successful candidate will employ culinary and managerial skills to play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our guests’ satisfaction. He/She will also have to ensure compliance with food safety and employment guidelines.
Responsibilities:
* Preparing pizza dough, sauces, and toppings.
* Cleaning and mise en place of the pizza station before service.
* Monitoring the temperature of the pizza ovens and cooking times.
* Monitoring inventory and ordering supplies as needed.
* Plating or packaging pizzas accordingly.
* Managing all food order slips and ensuring that customers’ orders are completed in a timely manner.
* Collaborating with the rest of the culinary team to ensure high-quality food and service.
* Keeping the area of the kitchen safe and sanitary according to Health, Safety, Fire, and Hygiene guidelines and procedures.
* Improving food preparation methods based on feedback.
* Assisting in other areas of the kitchen when required.
* Monitoring portion and waste control.
* Attending any training that has been set up to aid personal development.
* Ensuring high standards are consistently met and making sure personal appearance and uniform are always in line with the required standards.
Minimum Requirements:
* High school degree or equivalent required.
* Good French and English level. Any other language is an advantage.
* Minimum 5 to 10 years of culinary experience.
* Minimum 5 to 10 years of culinary management experience.
* Knowledge and ability to run a section.
* Team management skills.
* Previous experience in high volume and/or upscale restaurants is a plus.
* Previous experience preparing pizzas is a plus.
* Ability to deliver fresh food to high standards.
* Ability to cope well under pressure.
* Excellent personality and drive.
Visa Requirements:
EU Passport or Right to work in Switzerland.
