Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Group Financial Reporting Analyst reporting directly to the Group Financial Reporting Manager.
As part of the day to day you will collaborate closely with Somfy Finance and business team around the world and coordinate the group management accounting and reporting as well as take part on various projects. Your role will be crucial in managing ensuring the presentation and reporting of accurate financial data, driving the improvement of the visibility of the numbers. As a key player in the finance controlling department, you will contribute to the company's mission by providing financial insights and enabling strategic decision-making.
Role and Responsibilities
The Senior Group Financial Reporting Analyst will play a crucial role in providing financial insights, analysis, and reporting to support strategic decision-making across the organization. This role will collaborate closely with various departments, including finance, operations, and executive leadership, to coordinate, consolidate and report financial performance.
Your scope is Group and international. This position offers numerous, rich interactions at different hierarchical levels with, for example, all the international local accountants and controllers and the group statutory consolidation team.
Main activity of the position: contribute to the consolidation of the group's reporting at the different stages of our annual cycle (monthly quarterly and yearly reporting, collaboration on budget and forecast process).
Key Responsibilities:
Monthly Financial Reporting and consolidation
2. Lead the monthly close accounting processes, working closely with finance internationally to ensure accurate and achievable financial targets.
3. Ensure compliance with financial reporting deadlines within the group in order to base the decisions of the Executive Committee on the latest available data.
4. Ensure the consistency and quality of the data uploaded by the local controllers.
5. Update reporting procedures based on ongoing projects (e.g. cost per function) and training of the financial community.
6. Ensure that the HFM structure is updated to meet reporting needs.
7. Analyze financial trends, variances, and performance metrics to identify areas of opportunity or concern and provide recommendations for improvement.
Financial Analysis and Reporting
8. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and presentations for executive leadership, highlighting key performance indicators, financial metrics, and strategic insights.
9. Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis and scenario modelling to support strategic initiatives, investment decisions, and operational improvements.
10. Other tasks and participation to projects as defined.
Process Improvement and Optimization
11. Identify opportunities and drive recommendations to streamline the accounting processes in order to enhance reporting capabilities and improve efficiency and accuracy of financial data.
12. Staying updated with the latest IFRS standards and adapting processes and SOPs accordingly
13. Initiating process improvements and streamlining reporting procedures
14. Participate in the updating of the group's accounting procedures and assist/train subsidiaries for their proper application.
15. Update reporting procedures based on ongoing projects (e.g. cost per function) and training of the financial community.
Administrator tools
16. HFM Administrator Manage system enhancements and period opening and closing tasks in the consolidation tool
17. Participate in the update of rental contracts in the dedicated tool
18. Assisting in the implementation of the new consolidation system
19. Ensure that the HFM structure is updated to meet reporting needs
Qualifications
20. 5-7 years of experience in a corporate/group finance position
21. Qualified accountant with strong background in IFRS experience, Accounting and Consolidation
22. Solid knowledge of the Hyperion and HFM (Onestream an advantage)
23. Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
24. SAP knowledge would be a strong asset
25. Business fluent in English and French is a must, any further European language is an asset
26. Strong attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining accuracy and integrity of financial information.
27. Excellent communication skills with the ability to structure your thoughts and derive action plans for your team to execute, as well as the ability to communicate efficiently across all staff and stakeholders levels
