Job Title: Senior Policy Officer (Latin America)
The Bureau for Employers' Activities (ACT/EMP) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Policy Officer to manage the programme of development cooperation for Latin America and supervise the work of Senior Employer Specialists in the region.
This role requires a strong understanding of labour policy analysis, experience working with employers' organisations, and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will have at least ten years of professional experience, including at the international level, and a strong background in labour law, public administration, industrial relations, or a related field.
Main Responsibilities:
* Plan, organise, coordinate, and monitor the work of an ACT/EMP policy team
* Provide advice to senior ILO officials on matters of concern to the Employers' Group and represent ACT/EMP at official meetings and conferences
* Develop and implement policies and programmes to promote the interests of employers' organisations
* Serve as a focal point for technical policy issues within ACT/EMP
Requirements:
* Advanced university degree in economics, labour law, public administration, industrial relations, political science or other relevant field
* At least ten years of professional experience, including at the international level, in labour policy analysis and dealing with employers' organisations
* Excellent command of Spanish and a working knowledge of another working language of the Organization (English, French)
Competencies:
* In-depth knowledge of the work of the Organization, its policies, programmes, and procedures
* Excellent analytical skills to undertake complex policy analysis and produce relevant reports
* Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
