The Position
Digital health technology is revolutionizing the way we develop personalized medicines for patients. At Roche, we're dedicated to creating community- and regulator-accepted digital endpoints and outcomes that redefine how we measure disease progression in clinical drug trials and make them accessible to Biopharma companies and the research community.
Job Mission
We're an integrated team of scientists, technologists, data analysts, and operationalization experts who leverage mobile technologies like smartphones and wearables to collect objective and continuous sensor data from patients in clinical trials.
We co-create innovative digital remote monitoring concepts for sensitive and meaningful drug development endpoints, implement them in technology solutions, develop health-related outcome measures with the data, seek community- and regulatory acceptance of corresponding endpoints, and offer them to biopharma companies and research institutes for use in clinical trials.
Your Impact
* Develop and optimize data-driven procedures to support digital biomarker study setups and operations, including digital device/app quality control, adherence monitoring, and data transfer quality control.
* Co-develop and maintain external and internal data standards to ensure seamless data flow during different data processing steps from raw sensor data collected by our digital health solutions through signal processing algorithms to data transfer files provided to our customers.
* Be the technical owner of our library of signal processing algorithms to extract meaningful information from raw sensor data.
* Contribute to the improvement and automation of data processing and analysis pipelines across programs.
* Lead activities in matrix teams.
* Be the main interface between the Digital Biomarker data analysis team and workflows, clinical integration, and deployment teams.
Must-Haves:
* A very good university degree in computer science, software engineering, mathematics, statistics, or natural science.
* 5+ years of hands-on experience in software development and data engineering (optional: signal processing) on digital biomarker data.
* Experience working in a goal-oriented manner with the customer in mind.
* Understanding of regulatory requirements for digital health technologies.
* Strong experience working at interfaces between signal processing experts and software developers.
* Experience working collaboratively within a large team and managing time against competing demands.
* Proficient knowledge in Python, with additional knowledge in other software packages/languages welcome.
* Excellent English language skills, with excellent writing skills.
