Community Care & Development Manager (100%)
Position summary
The Community Care & Development Manager is responsible for the Michelangelo Foundation’s communities development and related strategy implementation thanks to a dedicated team of regional coordinators, each responsible for a geographical area.
The main communities in charge are the following ones (not exhaustive list): Artisans, Ateliers and Manufactures, Craft Network, Craft Experts, Homo Faber NextGen and Friends of Homo Faber.
The Community Care and Development Manager is the central point of contact for questions related to communities development (internal and external).
He/She/They presents/present the three main projects of the Michelangelo Foundation to the communities: Homo Faber Biennial and events, Homo Faber Guide and Homo Faber NextGen, as well as future projects or developments.
He/She/They orchestrates/orchestrate with the Regional Coordinator the countries mappings, the animation with the communities, the maintenance of the dialogue and the insurance of their participation in the projects of the Foundation.
He/She/They is/are the main point of contact of the other managers of the Michelangelo Foundation on sourcing and communities development matters.
He/She/They shares/share and gathers/gather information, needs, project expression, expectations and planning.
Liaising with the other managers, the Community Care Manager establishes a clear reporting with them and communicate the relevant information as well as assign specific tasks and projects to his/her/their team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of the craft sector and its key stakeholders. He/She/They will have a track record in Network or Communities development and management, strong intrapersonal, communication and organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paces and deadline and objectives-driven environment.
Main responsibilities
The Community Care & Development Manager implements in accordance with the Michelangelo Foundation Management the sourcing and communities development strategy. The Community Care & Development Manager is in charge of implementing the strategy with the Regional Coordinators.
Sourcing:
Collects the Michelangelo Foundation needs by liaising with the managers
Establishes the Michelangelo Foundation sourcing strategy in accordance with the head of Sourcing
Establishes the sourcing planification and priorities and communicate them to the Regional Coordinators
Accompanies and advices the Regional Coordinators on sourcing tasks and projects;
Identifies and shares the best practices
Reviews the Sourcing Guidelines when necessary
Liaises with the Head of Fundraising when sourcing is integrated into potential partnerships with external stakeholders
Liaises with the Homo Faber Guide Manager to ensure fluid information linked to the geographical development
Liaises with The Event Manager for coordination and fluid information for all events
Liaises with the Education Manager for coordination and fluid information for collaborative projects
Communities Development:
Collects the Michelangelo Foundation needs for network by liaising with the managers
Establishes the communities maintenance and development strategy and planification – including Friends of Homo Faber planning
Reportings:
Establishes monthly reporting about sourcing and communities developments – highlighting the main achievements
Shares the reporting with the Michelangelo Foundation team
Community Care and Network Development team management:
Manages the team
Organises weekly meetings with each team member and a team weekly meeting;
Establishes the team priorities and each one’s priorities
Ensures the respect of these priorities and deadlines
Facilitates the evolution of the team members
Ensures an adequate atmosphere of respect, work and collaboration in the team, as well as with other teams
For the sourcing and communities team, organises and respects the travel budget and planning
Sourcing and Community care budget:
Is in charge of the budget dedicated to Sourcing and Network with respect of the accountability and financial procedures, as well as the deadlines
Required Skills
Minimum 7years’ of experience in team (3 direct reports) and project management
Knowledge of the crafts, art and design scene
High degree of intellectual and cultural curiosity and sensibility with the ability to interact diplomatically with different cultures and audiences
Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to understand how to adapt language and approach according to audience and culture
Superior verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
Action and result driven with excellent organizational and coordination skills
Great multitasker and capable of simultaneously managing multiple projects and stakeholders with different deadlines
Figure of leadership and positive mindset
Computer skills literate (MS Suite, Salesforce)
Must be fluent in English, knowledge of French and at least another language is mandatory
Committed to travelling as needed
