Job Description
The manufacturing process of high-end microchips involves over 2,000 intricate steps. Vacuum valves play a critical role as they are positioned near the semiconductor wafer, impacting the overall process performance. Semiconductor fabrication plants like Intel, Samsung, or TSMC increasingly rely on data generated during the manufacturing process to optimize production performance.
To develop intelligent vacuum systems that meet these demands, we seek a skilled Test Engineer with expertise in sensors and vacuum technology. Key responsibilities include:
* Testing and evaluating advanced sensor and actuator components in our state-of-the-art R&D innovation center
* Designing and assembling experimental setups
* Setting up, performing, and documenting experiments (DoE) in an organized and structured manner
* Maintaining the lab environment and experimental setups
* Collaborating with cross-functional teams of experts within VAT's global R&D organization
Key Competencies
* Physics laboratory technician or BSc/MSc engineering degree/Degree in Applied Sciences (FH)
* Experience working with experimental setups and vacuum technology
* Familiarity with automation and PLC is highly beneficial
* Data analytics skills and scripting (Python) for data processing are desirable
* Demonstrated knowledge in developing concepts, prototyping, and industrializing electronics or mechatronic products
* Hands-on, systematic, and structured approach with strong problem-solving and communication skills
