The Zurich Workplace Services team is responsible for user and infrastructure support for the Zurich and Warsaw offices. We provide technical support to employees across several divisions, and we now have an opportunity for a Branch Support Specialist. We are searching for an IT Floor Supporter, who will ideally have experience of providing technical support in a financial services environment and must have a proven track record of delivery in client support and desktop technology. The successful candidate has a proactive, ambitious and client orientated personality and is fluent in English (speaking and writing).
What will you be doing?
Desktop Support:
* Day to day operational support of a complex desktop environment, including a large virtual desktop population, for a broad range of internal clients.
* Performing advanced desktop troubleshooting (desktop operating systems, hardware, standard MS Office applications and a large range of proprietary technologies)
* Managing third party applications through full product lifecycle, including security reviews, scripting, testing, deployment and on-going support.
* Coordination/escalation/ownership for IT incidents/problems requiring collaboration with global technology teams or local vendors
* Coordination and execution of IT client requests like provisioning of IT hardware, software deployments, new product requests etc.
* Incident resolution and problem management across a broad range of technical issues
* Acting as a local technical lead on global projects
* Interacting with other support groups (regional and global) within the Firm across multiple platforms
Infrastructure Support:
* Performing local recurring infrastructure tasks such as network patching
* Support global infrastructure teams and execute instructed tasks such as HW installs, changes, break-fix, testing and checkouts
* Acting as a local technology lead, assisting infrastructure projects with local impact
* Collaborate with global Infrastructure Teams to troubleshoot local incidents/problems
* Infrequently, the role requires working after business hours (evenings, weekends, public holidays) for support coverage and Infrastructure support
Administration:
* Documentation of incidents/problem
* Maintain support documentation for knowledge sharing
* IT asset management according to internal best practices
What we’re looking for:
* Strong analytical problem-solving skills
* Identify, manage and escalate where necessary risks associated with IT systems and Infrastructure
* Comprehensive knowledge of Windows operating systems, IOS, Android, Office 365, PC hardware and Mobile Devices
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to frame technical information for a diverse audience
* Able to operate effectively in a pressurised environment, managing rapidly evolving situations to a satisfactory conclusions
Skills that will help you in the role:
* Fluent in German (speaking and writing)
* Excellent follow-up skills: must take initiative and stay with problem from beginning to end
* Comprehensive knowledge of ITIL Framework
* Exposure to Agile methodologies
* Proven ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
