Job Title: Head Bartender
An exceptional opportunity exists for a world-class mixologist to join Explora Journeys, a luxury travel brand. As the Head Bartender, you will be responsible for delivering an unparalleled guest drinking experience and ensuring the seamless operation of assigned venues in line with Explora Journeys' policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with the Beverage Manager to ensure quality service, product excellence, and public health standards in all bars, lounges, and crew bar areas.
* Oversee daily beverage operations in Guest and Host Bars, as assigned by the Beverage Manager, to maximize guest satisfaction and revenue while maintaining cost control.
* Support the Beverage Manager in generating upselling opportunities, maintaining costs, and achieving high levels of guest satisfaction.
* Provide courteous, friendly, quick, and professional service to guests at all times.
* Maintain the highest level of performance among bar staff in their assigned workplaces.
* E nsure that all bars are fully stocked to par level at all times.
* Foster a premium service experience for guests in all venues.
* Train team members and supervise working operations in the assigned bar area.
* Assist the Beverage Manager in cost control responsibilities through close monitoring of inventory, spoilage, and recipe adherence.
* Conduct daily self-inspection checks to ensure all bars, bar pantries, machinery, and storerooms meet Public Health guidelines.
* Supervise and monitor the correct application of food safety procedures and food quality requirements related to all processes.
Requirements:
* Previous experience in a similar position in an International Cruise Company or a busy 5-star hotel/resort with an international bar list is essential.
* A Food Safety/HACCP certificate is mandatory.
* Basic knowledge of food safety is required.
* Proven job and product knowledge, including cocktail recipes, wine lists, and bar setups, is necessary.
* Familiarity with Bar menus, garnishes, and presentations is crucial.
* Awareness of all events and activities on board and ability to communicate to guests is required.
* Compliance with the company's alcohol policy is essential.
* Effective communication with senior management is necessary.
* The ability to lead and make decisions, with experience in coaching, is essential.
* Cost and quality consciousness is vital.
* Computer literacy, with knowledge of Fidelio/Otalio, POS, and Crunchtime, is an advantage.
