Your Goal:
Team Lead E&I and Automation at a leading chemical process technology company.
Our client is a small, successful Swiss company which belongs to a leading European technology provider. It is a global leader in innovative process technologies for the chemical and aluminum industries. The company successfully develops and adapts its proprietary process technologies and realizes modular plants worldwide, ensuring high process efficiency and quality for its customers and their products which often play crucial roles in various high-tech applications.
To strengthen and expand the current team, the management has asked us to search for a qualified, highly motivated and flexible electrotechnical engineer to join as a Senior E&I / Automation Engineer .
Within a small team, you will:
Independently develop entire concepts for the instrumentation and automation of chemical process plants.
Coordinate the cooperation of suppliers and system partners for the electrotechnical equipment (quality, delivery terms, costs).
Take responsibility for the commissioning, start-up, and testing of new plants worldwide.
Manage the customers' operator training.
Check the respective engineering documentation and plans and coordinate with the relevant internal departments.
To interested and qualified candidates, the position offers the perspective of becoming the team leader. You should have:
A completed MSc/BSc degree in electrical engineering, systems engineering or automation.
A few years of work experience in a process technology and engineering environment (chemical, pharmaceutical, oil/gas).
Sound knowledge of process control systems and instrumentation engineering for process plants.
A basic understanding of automation applications (PLC).
The ability to read and review electrical drawings (wiring diagrams).
Experience in explosion protection and general aspects of operational safety.
Preferably experience in or executed FAT, commissioning and/or start-up of process plants.
Familiarity with usual IT tools (electro-planning software, Siemens SPS, MS Office including Access and Visual Basic).
Proactive and self-motivated attitude with strong engineering judgment skills.
A willingness to learn concepts and technical details of complex systems.
Teamwork skills and ownership of assigned responsibilities.
Comfort in high-pressure environments with continuous changes.
A willingness to accept responsibility and accountability.
First experiences in managing a small team would be very appreciated.
Fluency in English (German or other languages would be an advantage).
This job also requires international travel (30-50%) and the willingness to relocate to the region of Basel (Switzerland, Germany, or France).
