Senior Specialist - Retail Architect DTC

The DTC On retail fleet is expanding with ambitious goals, and we're seeking a confident Retail Architect to elevate our store designs and other retail activations within EMEA. You will combine your architectural design expertise with retail experience to develop and oversee implementation of On stores internationally, following the brand’s design and technical guidelines within each project’s given space, specific requirements, and schedule. Addressing future trends in design, technology, human behavior, and the evolution of various On’s retail concepts as well as next-generation environments.
Your Mission
1. Design On stores and partner retail formats within EMEA, guiding them from an empty shell to a fully realized fit-out, while ensuring consistent adherence to the On brand, aesthetic, and architectural identity.
2. Deliver comprehensive conceptual and schematic designs, covering zoning, preliminary studies, modeling, render visualization, and presentations.
3. Prepare internal approval presentations, incorporating 3D Interior Renderings, Sample Boards, and Storefront Elevations when necessary.
4. Ensure designs align with landlord design criteria, and that construction documents comply with architectural and quality standards, building codes, and health and safety regulations.
5. Collaborate with external design agencies, local architects, general contractors, and other suppliers to uphold On's retail standards.
6. Review and verify design drawings to ensure adherence to the design intent by assigned architects.
7. Demonstrate the ability to actively contribute as a team member or, when required, manage a small team independently through all stages of the design process.
8. Provide a comprehensive drawing construction and fixture package to partners and subsidiaries for retail implementation.
9. Work closely with Construction Managers on each project, developing solutions for construction and scheduling challenges.
10. Coordinate with various internal departments, including Retail Operations, Visual Experience (VM), Retail Technology, and IT, to ensure flawless project completion.
11. Assist with landlord communications on all projects.
12. Conduct on-site observations when required.
Your story
1. Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Architecture, Interior Design or equivalent.
2. Minimum 5-7 years of experience in retail design.
3. Proven track record of successful retail concept development or design lead role of key projects.
4. Expert in 2D/3D software: AutoCAD, Sketch-up, V-Ray, Adobe Suite, etc.
5. Expert in detail-oriented construction and fixture development.
6. Experience in EMEA market, specifically Italy is considered a plus.
7. Experience in building codes, accessibility regulations and other relevant construction constraints.
8. Experience in fast-paced projects with the ability to manage consistently tight deadlines, multiple projects, and deliverables.
About the Team
You will be an integral part of our regional EMEA retail expansion team, overseeing cross-functional projects that span market analysis, retail strategy, concept development, and final delivery. This includes handling construction and fit-out projects, ranging from smaller stores to large flagship locations. Collaborating with key stakeholders in EMEA Retail Operations, Marketing, and Visual Merchandising, Construction and FM your role is pivotal in creating a consistent customer experience across all retail touchpoints.
