We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced architect to join our team as a Store Design Manager. The successful candidate will initially focus on deploying and adapting the existing store concept to the new brand platform, with the creation of a new concept planned for the near future. This role requires a strong background in architecture, store design planning, and project management. Reporting to the Global Store Design and Sustainability Director, here’s what you will be responsible for:
Key Responsibilities
Store Design Planning & Project Management - Boutiques, Shop-in-Shop:
1. Manage the design and planning process for an average of 10 boutiques and 40 shop-in-shops (SIS) per year.
2. Oversee the global design and store planning process, from initial design to store construction, collaborating closely with internal teams, markets, and external stakeholders.
3. Monitor all design aspects at the headquarters level to ensure consistency across retail and wholesale (WHS) portfolios.
4. Contribute to capital expenditure (Capex) monitoring and support local markets in completing projects on time and within budget.
5. Develop a network of local contractors with a focus on sustainable store planning.
6. Develop and implement guidelines and procedures to ensure design consistency and operational efficiency across all projects.
7. Continuously improve store design projects.
8. Prepare and present design proposals, reports, and updates to senior management and other stakeholders.
Sustainable Store Planning
1. Actively participate in all Sustainable Store Planning meetings.
2. Follow up on the development and application of the sustainable guideline for our boutiques and SIS.
3. Adapt and apply The SSP practices to all our POS projects.
4. Increase sustainable practices with our suppliers at each touchpoint.
In-Store Experience
1. Create and deploy innovative in-store features to enhance the customer experience and support sales.
2. Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers to oversee the production process, including material sourcing, quality control, and adherence to deadlines.
3. Plan and execute the logistics for dispatching VM tools to boutique stores, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
4. Ensure that each new boutique project delivers a consistent in-store customer journey, integrating all Zenith tools to provide the best experience.
5. Liaise with markets for managing their displays order for all POS.
Collaboration and Communication
1. Work closely with cross-functional teams such as marketing, operations, and visual merchandising to ensure store designs meet their needs and enhance the customer experience. Present design proposals and updates to stakeholders.
Fixture and Material Selection
1. Specify and source fixtures, furniture, finishes, and other materials that meet design, functionality, and budget requirements. This may involve negotiating with suppliers and managing inventory.
Store Layout Planning and Optimization
1. Develop efficient and optimized store layouts to maximize space utilization, improve customer flow, and increase product visibility. This includes studying customer behavior, product placement, and traffic patterns.
Industry Trend Monitoring
1. Stay updated on the latest trends in retail store design, technology, and customer experience to ensure store designs are innovative and competitive.
Cost Management
1. Develop design solutions within budget constraints and optimize material and inventory levels to control costs.
Post-Project Analysis
1. Evaluate completed projects to identify areas for improvement and incorporate lessons learned into future store designs.
Qualifications
1. Degree in Architecture or related field.
2. Proven experience in store design planning and project management.
3. Strong understanding of retail design and construction processes.
4. Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
5. Strong communication and presentation skills.
6. Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
7. Experience with sustainable store planning practices is a plus.
8. Proficiency in design software and tools (Auto CAD, Adobe creative suite, Snag it…).
9. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
10. English and French are mandatory.
