Global LNG Modeling and Trading Support
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop a comprehensive global gas supply and demand (SnD) model, incorporating detailed gas and power balances for key countries.
* Integrate results into a European Gas SnD model, including standardized scenarios and ad-hoc inputs.
* Monitor the accuracy of the Global Gas SnD against realized inventories and ensure model inputs meet industry-leading standards.
* Sustainably track changes in the worldwide regulatory environment to incorporate updates into the model.
Analysis and Trade Recommendations:
* Apply fundamental risk modeling to existing positions based on the model.
* Collaborate with Squarepoint's global Gas traders to support trade ideas and develop new ones.
* Generate and update reports as needed, leveraging Squarepoint's dedicated system.
Data Onboarding and Validation:
* Onboard novel datasets crucial for building a global gas fundamental view.
* Ongoing review and validation of data cleaning methods and cleaned data are necessary.
Essential Requirements:
* Possess excellent knowledge of International and European energy markets, with experience leading/supporting JKM&TTF strategies being key.
* Background in power markets is beneficial.
* Exceptional programming skills in Python and SQL, along with git knowledge and software engineering experience.
* Hold a Master's degree in a strong quantitative field (Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science).
* Demonstrate good documentation skills (able to properly document models).
* Able to frequently interact with traders.
* Reside in Geneva.
* At least four years of experience as a gas or quantitative analyst within top industry teams, preferably including a hedge fund and a trading house.
