Process Engineer Vulcanizing Global Role and Responsibilities
Main Role and Activities:
* Process ownership for vulcanizing process chain globally including creation and maintenance of production and process documentation (work instructions, methods, processes, policies and equipment)
* Project management or project support and creation of standardized specifications for asset procurements, conversions or problem cases globally
* Support development of process monitoring tools for vulcanizing process chains
* Developing and implementing optimization solutions to improve process stability, product quality, economic efficiency and personal safety
* Be a subject matter expert and conduct training on vulcanization process and elastomer for Product Managers, Product Designers, Quality Engineers and Process Engineers
* Work closely with vulcanization areas to analyze and optimize processes and eliminate waste. International exchange with production sites and suppliers.
* Identify unforeseen situations, conflicts and resistance as opportunities and find ways to reach goals.
Key Experiences:
* In-depth knowledge of vulcanizing process, vulcanizing tools, elastomers, chemistry and process technology as well as equipment engineering
* Experience in the preparation of system documentation, work instructions and learning documents
* Established network with suppliers, customers and external experts
Competencies:
* Proven experience as a project manager in the industry
* Experience with ERP systems (ideally D365)
* Minimum a bachelor's degree in engineering in the mechanical/materials/chemicals or similar
* Knowledge of mould making for the plastics industry will be an added advantage
* Professional experience in the plastics rubber/polymer industry processing industry, e.g. tyre or O-Ring manufacturing will be an added advantage
* Experience in the field of process analysis and optimization
* Experience in the field of statistical design of experiments, failure analysis and yield improvement will be an added advantage
* Basic knowledge of chemistry is an advantage
* Willingness to travel
* Ability to work in a team and very good communication skills in German and English for cooperation with production, product management and global production sites.
