Responsibilities Has authority to hire, transfer, suspend, lay-off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, and discipline employees as needed.
Establish departmental objectives and evaluate employee performance regularly including annual appraisal.
Manage employee expectations and track skill development.
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with coworkers and other facility departments to provide a unified approach to operations.
Participate in the Management Review process to evaluate the performance of EQMS.
Monitor and control the department budget.
Coordinate Production Activities with Order Planning (15%)
Maintain and Evaluate time and production records. Research and verify the accuracy of reports, forms, records and data. (15%)
Develop, analyze, and present data and alternatives for operating methods, process improvements, and policies (15%)
Ensures employees are provided safety training, PPE is issued as necessary, and employees are following safety policies. Participates in safety walks and completes safety audits. (10%)
All other duties as assigned (5%)

Education and/or Experience Required:
Bachelor’s Degree from a College or University
5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
5+ years of experience in managing a group of people.
3+ years of experience of Microsoft office products.
Preferred:
Experience in Assembly operations.

Language Skills Must be able to write reports, and business correspondence. Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with internal and external customers. Must also be able to research and compare the accuracy of reports, forms, records of data. Must be able to make presentations orally and in writing.
Mathematical Skills Basic skills needed include basic math and fractions and decimals.
Must be able to read drawings and schematics.
Must be able to use of adjustable measuring instruments.
Reasoning Abilities Must be able to interpret data to discern trend and determine needed actions.
Must be able to communicate data and information in easy-to-understand formats.

The position requires that the employee be able to traverse the length of the plant floor multiple times in a day up to five miles per day. The position will require the capability to ascend and descend stairs on a regular basis. The person will operate office and occasionally floor machinery including computers.

While performing the duties of this job the employee will be required to move between the office environment and manufacturing environment. The manufacturing floor can require the use of hearing protection, foot protection, and vision protection when necessary.
The ability to operate office machinery such as phones, computers, fax machines, and filing cabinets is required.
Travel is primarily local during the business day but out of area and overnight travel may be expected. The overnight travel for this position will primarily be to other locations within the United States but can also require travel to international locations as Chicago Faucets is part of the greater Geberit group.
