About the job
Based at the Mandarin Oriental Palace, Luzern within the Housekeeping Department in Luzern, the Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for all tasks related to the Housekeeping Department. The Housekeeping Supervisor reports to the Executive Housekeeper.
As Housekeeping Supervisor, you will be responsible for the following duties:
* Representing the Executive Housekeeper and Assistant Executive Housekeeper in their absence
* Allocation and coordination of teams in early and late shifts
* Project and administrative tasks management
* Independent organization of a smooth process of your shift
* Supporting, training and coaching the Housekeeping team
* Checking rooms and public areas
* Compliance with all hygiene and Mandarin Oriental quality standards
* Noting guest preferences to anticipate needs and satisfying guest requirements in Housekeeping to offer a memorable guest experience
* Handling guest complaints
As Housekeeping Supervisor, we expect from you:
* Completed vocational training in the hotel industry and first experience in Housekeeping
* Good computer skills, ideally with a PMS knowledge
* Communication skills – guests will come to you with both complaints and positive feedback. You will also have an open ear for colleagues. You will always be approachable
* High quality awareness, excellent manners and well-groomed appearance, as well as a positive charisma
* Open-mindedness, sense of responsibility and team spirit
* Organizational skills, resilience and flexibility – your position includes weekend and holiday shifts
* Very good knowledge of German and English. Other foreign languages are advantageous
