Pet Food - Business Development Manager
You will drive Reiser's petfood market growth as a Business Development Manager. Your responsibilities include understanding the petfood market and opportunities for the Reiser portfolio, developing a strategy and plan to grow this market, and identifying top customers requiring a national approach. You will represent Reiser in relevant trade associations, develop relationships with key customers, and understand organizations that we should serve. You will also support local sales efforts and work closely with regional and national sales organizations, product managers, and our Customer Service team.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Support the regional sales team to advance sales in the petfood market.
* Actively engage in industry associations representing Reiser and its partners.
* Develop and maintain close relationships with key decision makers at national petfood accounts.
* Define and serve as the Key Account Manager (KAM) for the top five active national petfood customers, leveraging the regional sales team to facilitate sales.
* Work closely with Reiser product managers to influence requirements and offerings to the petfood industries.
* Be an internal trusted advisor to the sales organization to support smaller petfood customers.
* Work closely with process and packaging experts, as well as our food technologists, to develop and improve process and packaging knowledge within the petfood space.
* Actively work with Marketing to influence our position and communication to the petfood market.
o Create articles for trade publications.
o Attend trade shows.
o Present at events to showcase Reiser's expertise.
o Develop physical and digital collateral.
o Lead generation.
* Work closely with the Field Service Team to ensure 100% customer satisfaction.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in business or engineering preferred but not required if exceptional experience.
* Five + years of experience selling capital equipment (preferably in food processing/packaging/pet food).
* Experience selling to the meat/protein industry is highly preferred.
* Ability to travel overnight approximately 80% during the week.
* Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
* Aggressive, enthusiastic, and determined individual with a proven track record of success.
* Understands the importance of selling equipment with the added service component and working closely with the service team.
* Proficient in MS Office suite of products, specifically Word and Excel.
* Ability to work independently, prioritize, and multi-task.
* Comfortable communicating with people at all levels of the organization.
