**Job Description:**
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer - 3D Integration for Accelerators to join our team at CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will work in the Engineering (EN) department, Accelerator Coordination and Engineering (ACE) group, Integration section (INT). As Mechanical Engineer - 3D Integration for Accelerators, you will be responsible for:
* Performing 3D integration studies, assembling models from design offices (mechanical, technical infrastructure, civil engineering) ensuring space reserved for transport and survey is available;
* Preparing and updating the work package description of the 3D integration studies on projects for which you will be responsible, defining schedule, budget and resource requirements, establishing a list of tasks and deliverables and monitoring the progress of work;
* Leading a team of designers for the 3D integration studies of the various FCC configurations (e.g. electron-positron collider, hadron-hadron collider, low and high energy configurations) and/or areas (e.g. underground/surface, sites, etc.);
* Working in collaboration with the civil engineering service for dimensioning the civil works for surface and underground areas, pre-design or contribute to the design and 3D integration studies of accelerators components, with respect to the infrastructure (e.g. metallic structures, transport and handling components, etc.) and general services (e.g. HVAC, electrical systems, etc.) and produce and/or control drawings;
* Reporting and preparing the relevant documentation for reporting on the work packages for which he/she will be responsible;
* Presenting the results of the studies during workshops and conferences.
Qualifications and Experience:
We are looking for candidates with a Master's degree or equivalent relevant experience in the field of Mechanical Engineering or a related field. You should have demonstrated experience in 3D integration studies of large and complex facilities interfacing mechanical components and building infrastructure services.
You should also have proven experience in the use of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software (preferably CATIA V5) in optimizing the management of standard CAD items within a Product Data Management (PDM) application, and in ensuring the lifecycle for validation and approval workflows within the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM).
In addition, you should have proven experience in the field of project management, coordination and supervision of designers.

Candidates should have spoken and written English or French: ability to understand and speak other languages professionally. Ability to draw up technical specifications and/or scientific reports and to make oral presentations in at least one of the two languages.

Contract Type and Working Hours:
Contract type: Limited duration contract (5 years). Subject to certain conditions, holders of limited-duration contracts may apply for an indefinite position.
Working hours: 40 hours per week.
This position involves:
* Work in Radiation Areas.
* Interventions in underground installations.
* A valid driving licence.
* Work during nights, Sundays and official holidays, when required by the needs of the Organization.
* Stand-by duty, when required by the needs of the Organization.
