The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zurich invites applications for a Non-Tenure Track Assistant Professorship of Clinical and Experimental Neurotology. The assistant professorship is located at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery of the University Hospital Zurich. The main focus of research at the department lies in the field of otology, especially in the biomechanics and electrophysiology of the audiovestibular system, auditory neuroplasticity, and tinnitus. The new assistant professorship shall contribute to the further development of the department by improving the understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of a broad spectrum of disorders causing dizziness and vertigo. The University of Zurich and its University Hospital offer a vibrant environment for cutting-edge research and plenty of opportunities for scientific interaction.
The successful candidate is expected to lead an experimental and clinical research team in the field of the advertised professorship and to participate in clinical services at the department as a senior leading physician. A research track record documenting successful acquisition of third-party funds is welcome. International visibility and the existence of a regional, national, or international network is expected. On the clinical level, we expect a board certification in otorhinolaryngology (ENT) and leadership experience at least at the level of an attending physician. We are looking for a candidate who is creative and collaborative with a strong commitment to clinical excellence and teaching.
German language skills at level B2 of the common European framework of reference for languages should be available or must be acquired within a reasonable period of time.
