Associate Scientist Optical Spectroscopy
We are seeking an Associate Scientist to join our team in the field of optical spectroscopy, focusing on chemical process development.
Responsibilities:
* Design and execute laboratory experiments with optical spectroscopy techniques (MIR, NIR, RAMAN) according to defined expectations and deadlines. Data management will be performed in accordance with FAIR data standards.
* Expand work packages into chromatography or morphology analysis based on prior expertise and project requirements.
* Maintain and qualify assigned lab equipment, ensuring laboratory safety and documentation compliance.
* Develop and maintain a data platform for the optical spectroscopy lab.
* Report results and protocols to internal stakeholders.
Requirements:
* A Bachelor of Science degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience in an R&D environment or a Master of Science in optical spectroscopy.
* Hands-on experience in troubleshooting, developing, and validating optical spectroscopy techniques (MIR, NIR, RAMAN). Knowledge of complementary fields such as microscopies (SEM, TEM) or other morphological techniques is beneficial.
* Strong background in statistics, (multivariate) data analysis, visualization, and management (e.g., MATLAB, Python, R, Origin, FAIR).
* Experience working with computerized lab environments (LIMS, CDS, electronic lab notebook, scientific databases, etc.).
