Senior Manager Global Outbound Transportation - temp for 18 months (m/f/d)
PURPOSE & OVERALL RELEVANCE FOR THE ORGANIZATION
This role is a great opportunity to work in a cross-functional environment in which you will be responsible for providing visibility on outbound performance and project portfolio to senior leadership.
As a member of the Global Outbound Transportation Team, you will bring technical innovation while identifying efficiency and process excellence opportunities with a keen focus on our regional market operations.
Through your technical knowledge on digital innovation and Supply Chain processes, you will become a key element in the successful delivery of our key Outbound improvement initiatives.
Projects
1. Lead and support key digital and business transformation projects such as the roll-out of transportation management solution (TMS) and multi-carrier management platform.
2. Maintain visibility on project portfolio for the global outbound team.
3. Provide executional support to markets in case of burning issues.
Systems
1. Act as Business Project Manager for roll-out of outbound digitization initiatives such as digital freight bill & audit.
2. Identify and review business requirements to feed to Product Owner for configuration and customization.
3. Become a subject matter expert in outbound digitization for our market teams, defining and implementing new processes based on solution functionalities and ensuring the highest level of productivity.
Data and Performance
1. Maintain/Define, Measure and Analyze standardized performance metrics and tools.
2. Improve and Gain control on Global Outbound key metrics to support markets' Service Level while delivering efficiency in their operations.
3. Drive outbound performance analysis including preparation of global reports, analysis of carrier portfolio, capacity needs vs secured, etc.
4. Drive data and root-cause analysis to identify efficiency and cost-saving opportunities.
5. Support Director Global Outbound in development of annual freight cost forecasting.
Community
1. Build and actively manage outbound logistics expert network for the exchange of best practices.
2. Drive market performance analysis including preparation of reports, analysis of carrier failures, comparison of capacity needs and capacity secured, etc.
3. Work with market outbound on resolution of major carrier performance failures.
4. Work with market outbound on adoption of global frameworks including performance management, carrier management, capacity planning, etc.
5. Review fit of carrier portfolio per market with procurement and market outbound.
6. Review fit of capacity secured vs. need with outbound market Lead.
7. Support ad hoc projects from conceptualization to project management.

REQUISITE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. Four-year college or university degree with focus on Supply Chain Management.
2. Minimum 5+ years experience in supply chain and outbound transport, and/or management consulting.
3. Extensive knowledge of ground transportation modes (parcel, pallet, LTL/FTL) in the consumer goods industry.
4. Understanding of the bigger picture and end-to-end supply chain with the focus on transportation (DC to customer, consumer).
5. Recent experience and current knowledge of Transportation systems capabilities, and technology platforms (real-time visibility, TMS, carrier integration platforms, yard management solutions).
6. Vast experience in multi-national supply chain/logistics/transportation work experience in fast-moving consumer goods industry (preferably apparel, fashion background).
7. Proven track record in driving change.
