Starting preferably in October 24 you will join one of Lonza’s new growth projects within the Bioconjugates business unit at our site in Visp. You will support the operational readiness for a new manufacturing asset by supporting all topics around safety and risk management: a perfect chance to gain insights into typical project and stakeholder management in pharmaceutical industry. During your stay, you will learn how measures to ensure process safety, occupational hygiene and ATEX are implemented for a state of the art biopharmaceutical manufacturing facility. As a member of the operations team, you will join a team of bioprocess engineers on their journey to design and set-up a new large scale biopharmaceutical manufacturing plant.
The position should be filled for a period between 6 and 12 months.
Key responsibilities:
1. Supporting the operations management team in planning the safety workstream
2. Active involvement in stakeholder discussions to identify risks in the field of process safety, occupational hygiene (HAPI handling) and ATEX (explosion risks)
3. Responsible for tracking and implementation of measures identified in HAZOPs
4. Review and update of relevant documentation, perform HAZOPs
5. Support bioprocess engineers in their daily business
Key requirements:
6. Good verbal and written communication skills, fluency in English (all relevant meetings will be held in English))
7. Project management skills would be an advantage
8. Self-motivated, proactive thinking and strong organizational skills
9. Interest to explore and support the organization of a CDMO
10. Enrolled student (B.Sc, M.Sc, PhD) in relevant engineering (Chemical Engineering, Safety Engineering, Mechanical Engineering etc.) or sciences (Chemistry, Occupational Hygiene, Biology)
11. Strong interest in Process Safety, Occupational Hygiene and ATEX
12. Familiar with P&IDs
