About the job
As the Communications Manager at ONWARD Medical, you will play a pivotal role in driving global communications activities for the company. Your primary focus will be on further enhancing the image and reputation of ONWARD Medical and increasing awareness of our mission to develop and commercialize innovative therapies for the Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Community and other stakeholders.
Responsibilities
1. Develop and execute ONWARD’s global communications plan, in alignment with the company's objectives and the global communications strategy.
2. Collaborate with internal team members and external partners to create and maintain a well-structured company communications calendar in line with strategic objectives.
3. Manage the development and publication of global communications contents, including key corporate materials and announcements, social media posts, and patient and customer video testimonials.
4. Manage ONWARD’s corporate presence across select social media channels, including editorial and campaign planning, execution, reporting, and performance optimization.
5. Maintain corporate elements of the company’s websites and other online assets.
6. Oversee graphic design, photography, videography, and other visual production activities related to ONWARD’s global communications.
7. Contribute to global media engagement activities, including pitch and media toolkit preparation and global monitoring, along with maintaining the company’s contact lists for global media and investors.
8. Manage and respond to incoming corporate communications via email, website registrations, and other inquiry channels.
9. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of global communications initiatives across channels.
About you
Background in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, and/or Business Administration.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in roles such as Public Relations, Communications, Investor Relations, Marketing, or related fields in Europe. Experience in the Life Sciences industry is preferred.
Proven ability to create and manage diverse communications materials and content, including written and visual elements, press releases, corporate materials, and social media content. Experience with media relations and working with vendors is essential.
Excellent writing and editing skills in native-level English and at least one other of the following languages: French, German, Dutch.
Strong presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal, tailored to different audiences; for example, investors, clinicians, and/or patients.
Effective project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, while meeting budget and deadline requirements.
Attention to detail, follow-through, and a sense of urgency.
Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills to work effectively with various stakeholders.
Flexibility and willingness to be hands-on when needed.
Creative problem-solving capabilities and adaptability to a fast-paced environment.
Experience in cross-cultural business environments with a global outlook.
Ethical, positive, and possessing a can-do attitude.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, and Adobe Pro, including Illustrator. Experience with other graphical applications (e.g., Canva) a plus.
