Join our team as a Data Platform Architect and help us to design and improve our enterprise-wide data platform on Microsoft Azure and Snowflake. In this role, you will lead the architecture of the platform and set best practices within the development team. You will also have the opportunity to implement yourself across the platform. You will work closely together with the product owner and the project team that sets up the platform and migrates the existing data and analytics solutions. Your main responsibilities include:
Design the architecture of the platform to be aligned with the goals of the project and the firm;
Lead decision making and align opinions on the architecture within the project team;
Operate, manage and optimize the performance of the data platform to ensure high availability and reliability in close collaboration with the internal cloud team;
Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions;
Implement data governance and security measures to protect sensitive information;
Keep up with the latest technologies and industry trends to ensure our platform remains fit for the future;
Participate in the IT architecture board to align the platform’s architecture with the enterprise architecture.
Requirements
At least 5 years of experience in designing, developing and operating a large cloud-based data platform, preferably in the finance or technology industry;
Academic degree in computer science, engineering or similar;
Leadership skills in guiding and mentoring a development team, aligning opinions and establishing and enforcing best practices;
Strong skills in modern development practices, including DevOps and Infrastructure as Code;
Experience with migrating on-prem (data warehouse) systems to the cloud is valuable;
Excellent communication skills and teamwork ability in English, German is a plus.
