Our Business Unit - Electrical Safety Solutions (ESS)
We are seeking an ambitious Business Development Manager/Developer to lead all activities driving financial growth of the ESS Business Unit through boosting sales and market assessments.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Growth Strategy Development: Develop and implement a growth strategy for ESS covering existing and new products for railway, renewable energy, and industrial applications to ensure sustainable business growth.
2. Market Insights and Opportunity Identification: Identify business opportunities and provide market insights to navigate product roadmaps and development activities, supporting the sales team to increase their sales effectiveness.
3. Product Economics Development: Drive and support product line managers, product development, and the sales team in developing product economics.
4. Growth Strategy Implementation: Develop and implement a growth strategy focused on both growth and financial objectives in close collaboration with the sales organization.
5. Market Research and Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify market opportunities in railway, industrial, and renewable energy applications, guide the development of new business segments, and the product roadmap.
6. Business Case Development: Develop business cases for individual products in strong cooperation with product line managers and the sales team.
7. Action Plan Implementation: Define, drive, and track the implementation of corresponding action plans in close collaboration with the sales team and product line managers.
8. Product Launch and Market Placement Planning: Prepare product launch and market placement plans in close cooperation with marketing, sales, and product line managers.
9. Competitor Analysis: Prepare and maintain a comparative analysis of competitors' products to support the sales network's promotional efforts and provide input to product line managers.
10. Key Information Preparation: Prepare and organize key information for the business.
11. Business Meetings Organization: Arrange business meetings with prospective clients to develop business opportunities.
12. Market Feedback Provision: Provide market feedback to product development teams and after-sales support.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should have:
1. A technical degree in electrical engineering or power electronics.
2. Further education in industrial product marketing/business administration is desirable.
3. At least 10 years of experience as an international Business Developer in an industrial B2B environment.
4. A successful track record introducing power products to new clients, driving key people across the organization.
5. Proven working experience as a successful business development manager/developer on an international scale.
6. Good knowledge of at least one of the following industry sectors: high voltage, railway traction systems, power transmission & distribution, renewable energy, and e-mobility.
7. An interest and ability to understand DC and AC power systems and corresponding product needs.
8. Excellent analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills.
9. Outstanding communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
10. Ability to develop convincing communication strategies based on technical rationale.
11. Proven ability to think creatively, identify, and resolve problems.
12. Experienced in working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
13. High integrity and trustworthiness, open and transparent.
14. Open to frequent traveling.
15. Excellent communication skills in English; French and/or German are desirable. Other languages are a plus.
