Laboratory Operations Assistant
Part time - 50%
Job Title: Laboratory Operations Assistant
Location: on site, Matzingen, Switzerland
Mission:
As a Laboratory Operations Assistant, you will support daily laboratory operations by managing samples, reagents, inventory, equipment maintenance, and compliance documentation. Your role will be crucial in maintaining a high-quality laboratory environment that adheres to GLP, GCP, and GMP standards.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Receive, document, and store biological and chemical samples/reagents according to protocol.
2. Maintain an accurate inventory and ensure traceability.
3. Prepare and ship samples in compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
4. Monitor and manage stock levels of lab consumables, reagents, and materials.
5. Place and track supply orders to ensure uninterrupted lab operations.
6. Coordinate with vendors and procurement teams for timely supply replenishment.
7. Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.
8. Maintain accurate records of equipment performance and service activities.
9. Assist with technical support coordination for equipment repairs and servicing.
10. Ensure all activities align with GxP (GLP, GCP, GMP) regulatory requirements.
11. Maintain organized and accurate logs for audits, inspections, and internal quality control.
12. Support the implementation and update of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
13. Assist laboratory scientists in routine lab tasks, including buffer/media preparation.
14. Ensure a clean, safe, and well-organized lab environment.
15. Provide logistical support during scientific experiments and research activities.
Key Qualifications:
1. Degree, diploma, or certification in Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or related field.
2. Prior experience in laboratory operations (experience in a GLP/GCP/GMP environment is a plus).
3. Strong knowledge of lab techniques, sample handling, and equipment maintenance.
4. Understanding of GxP regulations (GLP, GCP, GMP) and best practices.
5. Ability to maintain audit-ready documentation and support regulatory inspections.
6. Familiarity with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) or electronic lab notebooks is a plus.
7. Strong proficiency in English and/or German (written and spoken).
8. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
9. Detail-oriented mindset to ensure accuracy in lab operations.
10. Strong problem-solving skills to address lab challenges proactively.
11. Collaborative approach with the ability to work efficiently in a team environment.
12. Experience in biopharmaceutical research laboratories (nice to have).
