Job Description Summary:
The Project Manager will report directly to the Director, Transformation Programs and is responsible for delivering large and transformative initiatives and other high visibility priorities and programs within the MedTech Supply Chain Digital Project Management (MTSCD) organization. These initiatives include functional as well as cross-functional programs within one or multiple regions. The role will drive planning, oversight, execution, and communication as well as provide support, leadership and direction to regional project managers driving program delivery across all regions. Ensuring programs are delivered on time, budget and with quality.
The Project Manager ensures end-to-end program delivery, implementation, execution, and control of programs (including value case) through project go-live and stabilization. The candidate will have a strong background in large program execution as well as project delivery and strong communications to senior leaders, business partners and regional PMO leadership. Strong program planning, scheduling, and execution across different regions will be key for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage a sub-portfolio of MTSCD complex projects.
* Lead a team of project managers to ensure successful execution, delivery, reporting of projects including overall status, resource load and financial health.
* Lead large projects as needed and delivery ensuring all stakeholders understand respective roles and following project and portfolio process governance guidelines.
* Planning, execution, resourcing, budget, monitoring, closure of assigned programs.
* Perform project risk assessments, develop contingency plans, and recommend mitigations, as needed.
* Look for process improvement opportunities including project team engagement, project delivery, reporting and communications.
* Partner with J&J delivery teams, customers and regional and functional leaders to successfully plan, communicate and execute complex / global initiatives.
* Coach and lead project teams to execute activities such as assessments, building value cases, preparing process documentation, managing knowledge transfer, supporting cut-over activities, developing project/ program-related communications and providing other project management support and leadership.
* Maintain transparent communication channel with the J&J leaders by summarizing and reporting on program updates, issues, and mitigation plans.
* Provide leadership, direction, coaching, feedback, and, where appropriate, discipline to and through peers and subordinate team members.
* Manage and motivate project team members to achieve and exceed expectations by identifying staff performance gaps, allocating time to listen, monitor and provide constructive feedback for performance improvement.
* Possess a knowledge of various project management/continuous improvement methodologies (i.e. PMI, Agile, Lean, Six Sigma etc.).
* Embrace and lead a culture of inclusiveness and multi-cultural engagement through coaching and feedback to peers and the broader community in MTSCD in alignment with the J&J’s Leadership imperatives.

Qualifications:
* A minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
* A minimum of 6 years of relevant business experience.
* Program / Project management experience.
* Consistent track record of delivering, complex, cross-regional programs, and leading teams.
* Excellent written and verbal communication abilities; formal presentation and facilitation skills.
* Strong presentation skills: can speak across various forums and communicate to broad, diverse audience.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Active project management, agile or scrum certification.
