Position Overview
As a key member of the Research & Development team, the Research Manager, Poultry will contribute to developing innovative solutions and optimizing the application of existing ones. This role requires close collaboration with Sales, Marketing, and Technical Support teams to drive research and innovation projects from conception to implementation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Drive Innovation in Poultry Research
* Establish and strengthen an international R&D network, collaborating with internal teams and external scientific partners.
* Develop and maintain a scientific vision in poultry research.
* Assess the relevance and feasibility of innovative ideas, products, and concepts emerging from ADM's ideation process.
* Propose research themes and exploratory initiatives to drive innovation.
2. Manage Poultry R&D Projects
* Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
* Formulate detailed project plans, including timelines, tasks, and resources.
* Coordinate efforts across multiple sites, keeping stakeholders informed of progress.
* Lead regular project meetings and document progress in ADM’s project management system.
3. Deliver and Communicate Scientific Outcomes
* Identify solutions through literature reviews, start-up collaborations, or ADM’s existing R&D efforts.
* Design and oversee experiments (e.g., in vitro and in vivo tests) to validate concepts and compile technical documentation.
* Conduct trials on experimental farms in the USA and France, or other suitable facilities.
* Analyze data statistically, draw actionable conclusions, and determine next steps based on results.
* Present findings to Marketing, Sales, and Technical Support teams.
4. Support ADM’s Business Needs
* Provide expert scientific support to key clients on poultry-related topics and projects.
* Represent ADM at international scientific conferences and client meetings, showcasing R&D advancements.
Candidate Profile
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering, Animal Science, or Veterinary Science, coupled with a Ph.D. in Poultry Nutrition.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in animal nutrition, with roles in research and technical support.
Preferred candidates will have international, applied science, and field experience.
Knowledge of feed additives, microbiology, disease prevention, and feed enzymes is an advantage.
Skills and Competencies:
Technical Expertise: Poultry nutrition, feed additives, formulation, and scientific research.
Analytical Skills: Proficiency in statistical methods and data analysis.
Project Management: Strong organizational and planning capabilities to manage complex, multi-site projects.
Communication: Ability to translate scientific concepts into business solutions. Fluency in English is required; French and other Latin languages are a plus.
