We are currently looking for an ambitious, highly driven and enthusiastic Accountant with a flair for numbers and attention to detail to join our finance team in Lucerne City, Switzerland.

The Role
As an accountant, you will help to ensure accuracy and compliance in our financial and payroll processes. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with teams across China and Indonesia.
Accounting Support
* Accounts Payable - invoice processing: verifying invoices match purchase orders and resolving any discrepancies, handling invoice allocation and approval, and processing payments.
* Accounts Receivable - revenue processing: ensure accurate calculation of revenue, manage invoicing and accounts receivable to track and collect payments, data entry and reconciliation, ensuring accurate allocations.
* Contract management: ensure financial compliance, accuracy, and accountability throughout a contract’s lifecycle.
* Complete and control various month-end closing activities: including, but not limited to:
* Bank Reconciliation: perform reconciliations, comparing bank statements with company records to identify any discrepancies and correct them.
* Account reconciliation: review and identification of open items to resolve.
* Expense Tracking and Budgeting Support: assist in review of expenses versus budget.
* Assisting with Financial Reports: support in preparing financial reports by gathering and organizing necessary data, e.g. balance sheet reconciliations, payment collection reports and sales tracking.
* Quarterly VAT declaration: gather all VAT-related records, ensure accurate calculation of output and input VAT, and prepare and submit VAT return forms based on these totals.
* Assisting with Audits and Compliance: help prepare documentation to verify financial records.
* Additional responsibilities: assist with ad-hoc tasks and special projects as requested by supervisors, and support with office supply and inventory management. Propose innovative solutions to simplify, automate and minimize risk for current processes.
Payroll Support
* Payroll Processing: Oversee and manage the complete payroll process for all employees using Abacus software, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
* Payroll Accounting: Accurately entering payroll expenses in the general ledger, managing employer-specific liabilities like unemployment tax, workers' compensation, and health benefits contributions.
* Payroll Reporting: Generate and distribute payroll reports to management and relevant stakeholders.
Requirements
This role will focus on daily Accounting Support with the opportunity to be involved in Payroll Support as well.
* A degree in Finance/Business Administration or a similar degree.
* Ideally 2-3 years of work experience in finance/payroll administration.
* Ability to work to deadlines and maintain a high level of accuracy.
* Team player.
* Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken; German is a plus.
* Analytical approach to problem-solving and attention to detail.
* Driven, independent, open-minded and flexible.
* Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
* Eligible to work in Switzerland.
