About Our First Mile Projects
Our First Mile projects are a cornerstone of ECOM's commitment to sustainability, traceability, and impact. With the EU regulations' recent updates and growing stakeholder pressures, capturing data within our supply chain's first mile has become increasingly crucial.
Our First Mile technology project is a key initiative within the group, aiming to enhance transparency and traceability while meeting business and regulatory demands with timely deadlines. This project operates in an agile environment, adapting to evolving business needs as new regulations emerge and requirements unfold over the short and medium term.
The Role: Commodities Business Analyst
This role is part of the global Transformation Team and focuses on providing a commodity/business perspective to assess, report, and assist in deploying the First Mile product across different businesses within the Group in various origin countries.
Based in London, this position has a global scope, involving collaboration with diverse businesses, analysis from a commodities/business standpoint, and spending time in origins to understand their operations and record/analyse current ways of working up to implementation and post-implementation analysis.
Key Responsibilities
Main tasks include:
1. Developing cross-commodity business insights to support optimisation and development of business processes.
2. Identifying future transformational changes, initially focusing on First Mile projects, with opportunities for further development.
3. Conducting discovery of origin as-is processes and comparing them to global ECOM process templates.
4. Fostering relationships with origin teams to facilitate integration and adoption of new first-mile technology.
5. Establishing processes to improve data standardization, quality, and coverage, with an initial focus on EU regulation compliance.
6. Preparing materials for various stakeholders.
7. Collaborating closely with Business teams to align on business requirements and ensure alignment with First Mile projects.
8. Making recommendations, proposals for standardisations, and prioritisation methodologies for Business teams within an agile project structure.
9. Coordinating rollout plans for various projects and communicating these with the First Mile Change lead, Service team, and First Mile Project Manager.
10. Providing updates and risks associated with activities assigned to the First Mile Product team in the predefined format for each project.
Suitable Skills & Experience
1. Minimum 2 years' experience as a business analyst in a project environment with a proven interest in business process/transformation areas.
2. A degree in Business, Management, or related field or equivalent experience.
3. Desirable skills, knowledge, and experience within the commodity industry or in a supply chain environment.
4. Knowledge and experience of communications planning and delivery to support change initiatives, with the ability to articulate messages clearly to diverse audiences.
5. Proven numeracy, analytical, and report writing skills.
6. Ability to work independently and proactively.
7. Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage proactively with various teams in origin countries.
8. Strong attention to detail.
9. Spanish or French speaking is desirable.
