Accelleron is the global leader in high performance turbo chargers for large engines, applied industries which are difficult to abate. We support our industries in their ambition to decarbonize with innovative solutions improving efficiency and power density or enabling carbon neutral fuels.
The High Speed Division is developing and delivering turbochargers for high speed engines with a power range from 500kW to 5 MW, applied mainly in the energy market for base load, combine heat and power and mission critical applications. Gas compression and marine application are other important segments. We are the market leader, for engines using gaseous fuel.
The core of the high speed division including our main production is located in Baden, Switzerland, with sales offices in US and China.
As the Global Head of Operations (m/f/d), you will be responsible for managing and continuously developing the supply and production of the Division High Speed, covering the product portfolio for our high speed products over their entire life cycle and responsible for the operational purchasing for these products.
You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our manufacturing and assembly processes, driving operational efficiency, and ensuring that the company meets its production targets while maintaining highest safety and quality standards.
As on-time delivery is a key proposition to our customers, you will be responsible to plan capacities long-, mid- and short-term and maintain supply chain resilience together with strategic sourcing.
You will work closely with the division management team and with peers across Divisions to execute strategic initiatives globally and expand the company’s operational capabilities to meet growing customer demand.
You will join our great team in Baden, Switzerland, and will be reporting to the President of our High Speed Division and will be part of the Division Management Team.
Your responsibilities:
* Lead the Supply and Production of the High Speed product portfolio and the bearing production for Accelleron globally – leading 120 people with 10 direct reports.
* Assume full responsibility for health & safety and the development of the safety culture.
* Ensure benchmark on-time delivery performance with sound capacity planning and flexibility measures in the capacity.
* Lead the continuous improvement to improve quality and productivity in a structured way.
* Manage and mentor cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, quality assurance, and supply chain management.
* Manage operational excellence with regards to planning, sourcing, production & assembly and foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
* Ensure effective and efficient organizational structure at a global level, focusing on management, staffing, retention and development of talent.
* Support strategic initiatives, drive make-or-buy decisions, localization activities and Capex investments.
* Perform global strategic management with regards to production and sourcing for the High Speed division.
* Manage subcontractors and ensure their continuous development.
* Work closely with other functions and Divisions to ensure smooth collaboration between the departments and an alignment on the overall company goals.
Your background:
* Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field (MBA or equivalent advanced degree is a plus).
* Proven experience as Operations Director, or similar senior leadership role within a manufacturing environment (10+ years with 5+ years leadership experience).
* Strong leader and team player, with the ability to inspire and guide large, cross-functional teams.
* Can-do attitude, ideally proven by the successful implementation of critical change initiatives.
* Financial acumen, ideally supported by experience in managing large operating budgets and controlling costs.
* Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, using data-driven approaches to address operational challenges.
* Strong communication skills, capable of working collaboratively with all levels of the organization.
* Strong understanding of manufacturing and planning processes.
* Experiences in small batch size production and in mechanical production with high automation degree.
* Expertise in Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma, with a proven track record of driving operational efficiency, process-and continuous improvements, and innovation.
* In-depth knowledge of supply chain management and inventory management.
* Experience in quality assurance systems and compliance with industry standards.
* Fluent in English and German.
