We are seeking an experienced Account Manager to support our Global Account Director and manage client relationships, overseeing the development and execution of strategic campaigns for a key Publicis Groupe client in a restricted category. This role requires a skilled communicator who can manage client expectations, ensure seamless project delivery, and coordinate between cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the client's industry, have experience working within restricted categories, and excel at building strong, long-term client relationships. Exceptional organizational skills, a strategic mindset, and the ability to drive results are essential to ensure the success of campaigns across multiple markets.
Responsibilities
Position Summary
The Account Manager role owns the logistics and administration of the account operations.
Agency Operations
1. Finances: Owns the daily account work on the brand including budgets and billing. Familiarity with and adherence to agency financial and operating procedures and policies. Maintains accurate, organized files.
2. Troubleshooting: Solution oriented. Brings problems to the attention of management.
3. Team Leadership: Positive influence.
4. May mentor and direct the activity of an Account Executive (not applicable for now in this role).
5. Go to for general asks of internal team and able to effectively organize and run internal meetings.
Knowledge
1. Solid understanding of the brand and category and media channels.
2. Adheres to agency process. Identifies issues and contributes to problem resolution.
3. Has knowledge of client and brand initiatives, also has a strong understanding of competitor’s campaigns and positions in the marketplace.
Strategy
1. Competitive positioning: Understands client positioning and strategy thoroughly; has solid competitive knowledge.
2. Informing: Keeps team informed of changes in client/competitive climate. Communicates clearly and frequently.
3. Planning: Research on category, competitive data.
Tactics and Execution
1. Contributes thoughtfully to the brand tactical planning and creative process.
2. Works with account team to execute planned tactics.
3. Develops ability to review work with a strategic point of view, identifying areas of improvement in creative work and answers questions relating to brief and asset development.
4. Responsible for accurate and thorough documentation: status reports, contact reports, timelines; Takes ownership of day-to-day tactics and executions within agency, ensuring accurate and quality work is delivered.
5. Supports account team and production throughout the production process.
6. Supports the development and pull-through of complex project planning and execution.
7. Able to manage smaller budgets scope and adherence.
8. Develops strong and positive working relationships with project management, creative, finance, production and other departments.
Client Relationship
1. Communications: Attends client meetings and provides timely follow-up (e.g. contact reports). Synchronizes communications between account teams, vendors and clients.
2. Presentations: Organizes/manages client presentations. Influence and diplomacy in written and verbal communications. Effective, but concise communications.
3. Relationship: Is able to communicate directly and frequently with client with some autonomy. Builds rapport and credibility with client team peer based on trust and expert counsel and can handle day to day requests in a timely manner.
4. Works with client to execute advertising and marketing plans.
Qualifications
1. Bachelors degree required.
2. Work experience required.
3. Experience in Account Management/Agency or communications environment essential.
4. Experience in the tobacco category or a restricted category a plus.
5. Fluency in written and spoken English, French an advantage but not mandatory.
