The ideal candidate will work closely with the Director of Golf, Golf Sales Manager, and Assistant Professionals to oversee Assistant Golf Professionals, Interns, and Seasonal Staff, ensuring a seamless, customer-focused operation at Grand Geneva. This hands-on role will maintain the highest standards of golf operations and service, sanitation, safety, comfort, and aesthetics while managing department activities, projects, and personnel.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Ensure accurate tracking of golf rounds, assess customer satisfaction, and recommend improvements.
2. Lead golf outings alongside assistant golf professionals and manage event execution.
3. Collaborate with the Director of Golf and Golf Sales Manager to achieve golf operation goals.
4. Supervise and train golf shop staff to enhance guest experiences and maximize sales.
5. Oversee the Tournament Coordinator and ensure all incoming groups receive Tournament Services and Group Merchandise options.
6. Manage golf shop appearance and maintain merchandise documentation from purchase to sale.
7. Develop and lead instructional programs such as PGA Hope and PGA Junior League.
8. Oversee intern programs and ensure a quality experience for all participants.
9. Monitor facility operations and make recommendations for service and operational improvements.
10. Assist with retail buying, recruiting, and staffing during the off-season as directed by the Director of Golf.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Including, but not limited to, the following:
1. Class A PGA Membership.
2. 2-3 years of Head Professional or Lead Assistant experience, preferably at a multi-course facility.
3. Proven leadership experience focused on team building, coaching, and mentoring to achieve business goals.
4. Proven experience in managing large golf outings and maximizing tee sheet revenue.
5. Strong communication skills with team members and other department heads.
6. Strong golf skills, instruction, and personable demeanor.
7. Ability to multitask and solve problems efficiently under pressure with minimal supervision.
8. Positive attitude, professional appearance, and flexibility to work nights and weekends.
Reporting Relationship:
This position reports to the Director of Golf.
