The Warehouse Engineering Manager Role
We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Engineering Manager to oversee the design and analysis of operational strategies for various projects within the Kramp group's warehouses. Your focus will be on Material Handling Equipment solutions, including process and methods analysis, cost management, capacity improvement, and optimizing routing and shipments.
This is a new role, and as part of our Supply Chain Engineering Team, you will work closely with experienced stakeholders from various countries.
Key Responsibilities
* Design Engineering Solutions: Use your expertise to develop innovative engineering solutions that meet organizational standards and undergo thorough validation processes.
* Analysis and Standards Development: Contribute to information analysis, drafting engineering standards and specifications, and evaluating their effectiveness.
* Inspections and Quality Control: Conduct inspections to assess the quality of engineering works and specify remedial actions to ensure conformity with specifications and regulatory requirements.
* Supplier Collaboration: Work closely with suppliers, specifying requirements, challenging their solutions, monitoring implementation, and ensuring aftercare, including communication with stakeholders such as indirect procurement managers, legal teams, and local operations teams.
* Contract Management: Deliver required outcomes by managing day-to-day relationships with contract service providers within established contract management plans.
* Process Improvement: Continuously enhance manufacturing or materials processes and systems.
* Process Identification and Improvement: Identify shortcomings in existing processes, systems, and procedures and address them through established change management programs.
* Product Delivery: Define and deliver products and services that meet customer needs by selecting the best possible approaches available within established systems.
* Project Delivery: Execute small-scale or medium-scale projects while working within established program management plans.
Requirements
* Bachelor's Degree or Higher in Mechanical Engineering: We require a strong educational background in mechanical engineering or a related field.
* Relevant Work Experience: Initial experience (at least 3 years) in relevant work settings, such as automated e-commerce warehouses or production, or experience in a consultancy role.
* Mechanical Engineering Background: A background in mechanical engineering is considered an asset.
* AutoCAD Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD to successfully design systems.
* Project Management: Good project management skills or ambition to increase responsibility in this role.
* Analytical and Organizational Skills: You should be an analytical person, conceptually strong, and organizationally savvy.
* Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel up to 10% of your time within Europe.
