We are currently seeking a Business Development Specialist (a) to support an exciting team within the Commodity Trading sector. The ideal candidate will be an analytical, resilient, and committed individual who thrives in high-pressure, fast-paced environments and enjoys the opportunity to travel.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Head of Marketing and Trading teams to originate, structure, and execute transactions, including M&As, divestments, loans, prepayments, and structured financing.
Perform financial analysis of prospective investment opportunities in the iron ore division, focusing on prepayments, equity, and debt investments in mining assets.
Develop marketing and execution materials for transactions.
Create financial models and perform detailed valuation analyses.
Engage with senior team members and counterparties to facilitate transactions and manage risks.
Guide and coordinate the work of technical team members to move the execution process forward.
Liaise with internal and external parties, including lawyers, accountants, and counterparties.
Assist with client negotiations, Q&A, and management interviews.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Mathematics, Finance, or a related field from a highly regarded institution.
2-6 years of experience in investment banking, particularly in mining or natural resources, or in equity research or project finance with a focus on metals and mining.
Strong financial modelling skills (Excel proficiency).
Knowledge of the transaction cycle and execution-oriented mindset.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with senior professionals and key stakeholders.
Swiss work permit or CH/EU passport.
Ideal Candidate:
Proficient in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
Collaborative, independent, and positive work attitude.
Ability to travel internationally at short notice.
Highly organized and efficient with strong communication skills.
Experience working with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
