The Gstaad Palace with 90 rooms and suites, 5 restaurants, 2 bars and a legendary nightclub is an internationally renowned 5-star luxury hotel. It is owned by the Scherz family and is one of the last traditionally family-run Grand Hotels – a landmark in Switzerland.
We are looking from mid-June 2025 or by mutual agreement for a:
Sommelier
(Summer Season 2025)
Your area of responsibility includes:
1. Advice, selling and wine service in the various food & beverage outlets
2. Ensuring a smooth beverage service at all times
3. Helping to design the wine list
4. Wine purchasing in close cooperation with the Purchasing & Cost Controlling Manager
5. Cellar organisation and inventory
6. Helping to lead, train and develop the service team as well as providing training and education
7. Other tasks may be assigned according to business needs
Your qualifications include:
1. Education as restaurant specialist EFZ, hotel management school, further education as sommelier
2. Ability to create your own multi-course pairings
3. Very good knowledge of wine and sparkling wine as well as café, spirits and soft drinks
4. Storytelling – you can bring the stories about the wines to the guests
5. You are a bright, well-groomed person who loves to interact with our guests
6. Highly quality awareness
7. You enjoy working in a team
8. You are flexible, resilient, conscientious, detail- and customer-oriented
9. Good command of English and French
