In this role, you manage the local procurement operations of the Bern manufacturing site. You are responsible for ensuring that the materials are available on time and in the right quality and quantity to produce our life-saving products. The role is part of the Site Supply Chain leadership team and works very closely with planning and logistics, as well as with the global sourcing team and peers from other CSL Behring manufacturing sites.
Role Responsibilities: You are responsible for managing activities related to the procurement of materials, supplies, equipment, and services.
You direct buyers to accomplish company objectives in compliance with company policies and procedures.
You negotiate favorable terms, volume discounts, and long-term contracts with suppliers and/or approve purchases as authorized.
You develop and maintain procurement analysis for key materials detailing price and supply trends, market trends, and future purchasing strategy.
You lead materials cost reduction activities and communicate cost savings philosophy to staff.
You serve as the primary management contact and coordinate activities with internal stakeholders to address operational issues.
You manage relationships with key suppliers to ensure continuous improvement in the delivery of goods/services.
You contribute to systems and process improvement to deliver greater efficiency and effectiveness of service.
You monitor and enforce compliance with the Global Sourcing and Procurement Policy.
Educational Background and Past Experiences: Bachelor’s degree in business or a technical field.
7+ years of experience in procurement/purchasing.
Purchasing Management Certification (ISM/CPM).
Strong leadership/mentoring skills with first-hand experience in team management.
Demonstrated success in contract negotiations.
Fluency in English and German.
