Key Responsibilities:
* Platform Architecture & Customisation: Define and implement custom Shopify architectures, ensuring they align with business objectives and technical requirements. Customise themes, integrate plugins, and develop custom features to enhance functionality.
* Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead and mentor a team of developers, providing technical guidance, code reviews, and fostering best practices for Shopify development, including Liquid coding, JavaScript, and CSS.
* Integration & API Management: Integrate Shopify with third-party services (e.g., CRM, ERP, analytics, and inventory management) via APIs. Ensure data flows efficiently across systems, troubleshooting and optimising as needed.
* Performance Optimisation: Ensure Shopify stores are optimised for speed, scalability, and SEO. Regularly test and implement improvements to reduce load times and enhance the user experience.
* Quality Assurance & Troubleshooting: Conduct rigorous testing of custom-built Shopify apps and themes, identifying and resolving technical issues before launch.
* E-Commerce Strategy Collaboration: Partner with stakeholders to align Shopify development efforts with broader e-commerce and digital strategy, focusing on improving conversion rates, user engagement, and customer satisfaction.
* Data Security & Compliance: Ensure compliance with data privacy laws and security best practices, particularly regarding payment processing and customer data handling.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Extensive experience in Shopify development, including Liquid templating, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and working with the Shopify API.
* Strong problem-solving skills and experience with debugging and troubleshooting complex Shopify issues.
* Familiarity with e-commerce analytics and a strong understanding of customer journey optimisation.
