Pro Resources Professional is currently seeking a qualified QC Lab Team Leader to join our client's dynamic team in Berne, IN. Status: DIRECT HIRE
Location: Berne, IN
Pay: $50k
Shift: 1st
Responsibilities:
* Supervise day-to-day activities of approximately 6 direct-reports to ensure compliance with standards and efficient task execution.
* Provide technical guidance on Gemba investigations, auditing, root cause analysis, PPAP submissions, etc.
* Develop and maintain training plans and competency confirmation for direct-reports.
* Support internal non-conformance activities and facilitate closure of non-conformances.
* Prepare customer reports including 8D, capability studies, etc.
* Communicate with customers on quality issues, occasionally requiring travel.
* Conduct 1st party audits per IATF 16949 standards.
* Manage customer return material authorizations (RMA).
* Maintain control plan and check sheet specifications in ERP system.
* Assist with conflict materials and ensure compliance with all quality systems (IATF 16949, ISO 14001).
* Foster a positive work environment that promotes excellence, teamwork, and growth.
* Manage direct reports’ timeclock, overtime, and vacation time.
* Undertake additional projects as assigned by management.
Preferred Qualifications and Education Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in industrial technology, metrology, or related field OR equivalent work experience.
* 4 years of experience in automotive manufacturing industry or related field.
* Certified Quality Engineer (CQE).
Preferred Skills/Experience:
* Strong supervisory and team-building skills.
* Proficiency in problem-solving methodologies (Shainin, six-sigma, 8D, 5-Why).
* Knowledge of ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 standards.
* Experience with SPC (Statistical Process Control), Gauge MSA, PFMEA, and control plans.
* Proficiency in Minitab, Excel, PowerPoint, and technical writing.
* Effective communication skills with customers and all levels of management.
* Familiarity with basic lab tools and hand gauges.
Environmental/Working Conditions:
* Regular activities include sitting, standing, walking, bending, twisting, carrying, and lifting.
* Use of PPE as required by company policy.
