ABOUT THE SCHOOL
The International School of Lausanne (ISL) is a leading non-profit, International Baccalaureate (IB) World School set in the French-speaking part of Switzerland. Our school is committed to excellence in education. We strive to recognise the unique potential of each student and to equip them to play an active and responsible role in a complex, multicultural world. The school employs approximately 250 staff members on its campus, and we welcome approximately 850 students from over 60 nationalities, from 3 to 18 years of age.
For our Secondary School, we are seeking to appoint an experienced, passionate, and self-motivated Teacher of Digital Design and Computer Science for IB MYP and potential IB Diploma courses. This is a renewable full-time two-year contract starting from 1 August 2025.
The appointee will teach Digital Design to students in Years 8 to 11 in the IB Middle Years Programme. These classes are focused primarily on computer science concepts, including programming and robotics. The ability to programme in Python is essential, while experience with Java and practical electronics, such as VEX robotics, would be a strong advantage. Co-teaching or transitioning to teaching the IB Diploma Programme Computer Science course may also be possible. All staff are expected to teach the full range of students and courses. Most teachers at ISL are homeroom teachers, contribute to the school’s service learning programme, and undertake one or two weekly supervision duties.
