PATH is currently recruiting
for a Business Solutions Manager to support the management of the overall strategic coherence of PATH’s business systems. Working closely with PATH’s IT team, business system owners, and business process owners, the Manager will be responsible for understanding business needs, identifying the optimal system for their implementation, and ensuring that system owners receive the support and analysis required to understand the business needs and translate them into working technical solutions. The Manager will lead and mentor a small team of business systems analysts responsible for providing business analysis services across a variety of internal projects while utilizing leading industry practices and adhering to PATH standards.
Responsibilities:
Enterprise Architecture Management
1. Own and manage the overall strategic coherence and alignment of PATH’s enterprise/business systems architecture.
2. Collaborate with PATH business system owners and business process owners to understand and translate business requirements and challenges into technical solutions with full consideration of the full system architecture.
3. Collaborate with PATH Information Technology professionals in the design of system solutions to address business priorities in the form of enhancements to existing software solutions and in the selection and configuration or customization of new software solutions.
4. Define standards, guidelines, and best practices for solution architecture.
5. Ensure proposed business and systems solutions adheres to enterprise-wide requirements, data, systems, and tech stack strategy, industry standards, and leading practices.
6. Build strong internal relationships to understand business challenges and opportunities and strategically engage business leaders to anticipate organizational needs and identify solutions.
7. Work within the Continuous Improvement team to define and improve project, program, and solutions analysis approach and governance structures.
Business Solutions Analysis and Implementation
8. Manage and mentor a small team of business systems analysts, project team members, and other colleagues on coordinating, delivering business systems analysis services, and applying best practices and PATH standards on business process and systems improvement projects.
9. Partner with business owners, leaders, and senior business stakeholders to perform root cause and/or gap analyses and to define, approve, prioritize, and sequence business process and system transformation initiatives.
10. Collaborate with business owners to define, document, and analyze business requirements, using various tools and methods including (but not limited to): working sessions with business stakeholders to define business case, scope, process and policy, high-level and detailed business requirements, business rules, activity diagrams, feature mind maps, product roadmaps, SWOT analysis, user interface wireframes, business process modeling (BPM), data model / entity relationship diagram, decision models, and context diagrams.
11. Contribute and/or manage Request for Information (RFI), Request for Quote (RFQ), and Request for Proposal (RFP) and related solution selection processes.
12. Lead the evaluation of third-party products.
13. Facilitate user-experience prototyping to validate requirements.
14. Coordinate, configure, present and/or participate in business and technical reviews of the requirements deliverables, prototypes, trial evaluations and pilots, and application pre-releases.
Required skills and experience:
15. University degree in business, information technology, and/or related field, plus a minimum of five years of experience with business and systems investigation, evaluation, analysis, implementation and enhancements including previous experience supporting projects of significant scale; an equivalent combination of industry experience will be considered.
16. Experience managing a team required; experience managing a globally dispersed team highly preferred.
17. Proficiency in understanding and modeling complex systems, recognizing patterns, and designing scalable and robust architectures.
18. A strong grasp of technologies and platforms, including cloud services, enterprise software, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies like AI.
19. Familiarity with various software designs, languages, and architecture.
20. A good understanding of business processes and the strong analytical skills and techniques to analyze business needs to align technology solutions with business goals.
21. Business analysis, change management, and/or project management certification or designation.
22. Ability to successfully lead and juggle multiple projects and priorities, including large projects.
23. Strong focus on customer service and end user experience, balancing needs with economy, efficiency, and pragmatic solutions.
24. Strong process management and project management skills complemented with strong knowledge of Microsoft and related tools and platforms (e.g., M365, Copilot, Power Platform).
25. Outstanding presentation and public speaking skills is desired.
26. Ability to influence, build relationships, understand organizational complexities, manage conflict, and drive changes is desired.
27. Must have authorization to work in the country of application (i.e., UK, Kenya, Ethiopia, Ghana, Switzerland, Belgium and/or South Africa).
