Senior Project Accountant

Overview:
The Senior Project Accountant role plays a pivotal role in supporting our Finance Excellence strategy. This role aspires to chart their own path in a newly established position as an expert in project accounting (PoC). The person should bring a passion for numbers, an aptitude for interpreting contracts, and a meticulous attention to detail without losing sight of the broader objectives.

We are seeking a highly motivated, hands-on professional with a self-assured, independent work style and a robust level of resilience. In this role, you will be an integral part of the Group Reporting & Accounting department, reporting directly to the Accounting and Tax Senior Manager based in Zug, Switzerland.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide accurate and timely recording, reporting, and analysis of financial information;
2. Participate actively in month-end closing and external audit process;
3. Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards Swiss GAAP FER, company policies, and internal controls;
4. Build up accounting data base for customer contracts (e.g., asset ownership, warranty, scarp);
5. Contribute proactively during contract drafting / review process by providing necessary accounting guidance;
6. Support the organization with guidance on correct processing of information and follow up on customer project billing;
7. Perform analysis of accounting records to ensure accuracy and correctness;
8. Serve as the primary point of contact for project accounting questions in the global organization and closely cooperate with the commercial, R&D and FP&A teams.
9. Comply with GAAP requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions;
10. Assess current accounting operations, offer recommendations for improvement; design and implement new processes;
11. Recommend and implement improvements to accounting policies and processes and maintain respective accounting controls;
12. Maintain flexibility in assuming additional responsibilities as needed and demonstrate an ability to work independently.
Minimum Requirements:
13. 5 years of progressive experience in accounting;
14. Analytical thinker with a focus on underlying connections and reasoning (focus on identifying the “why”);
15. Effective team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, fluent in English;
16. Skilled in problem-solving with a solution focused mindset;
17. Adaptable to a dynamic and evolving work environment;
18. Demonstrates responsibility and resilience.
Preferred Requirements:
19. Strong expertise in Percentage of Completion (PoC) accounting.
20. German language skills.
