The Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI) is the worldwide membership-based network of national human rights institutions (NHRIs).
GANHRI promotes and strengthens NHRIs to be in compliance with the Paris Principles and provides leadership for the promotion and protection of human rights.
GANHRI works closely with the four Regional Networks of NHRIs in Africa (NANHRI), the Americas (RINDHCA), the Asia Pacific (APF), and Europe (ENNHRI), as well as with our partners from the United Nations – in particular the United Nations Human Rights Office and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
GANHRI provides a framework for NHRIs to work together and cooperate at the international level.
We coordinate a wide range of activities, including annual meetings, international conferences, networks, trainings, and capacity building.
We are looking for a talented and motivated events coordinator to support our team in Geneva to organise and host online and in-person meetings and events, on a broad range of themes and with the participation of GANHRI members and partners worldwide.

GANHRI is registered in Switzerland as a non-profit association. Our Head Office is located in Geneva at the Palais des Nations.
Within delegated authority and under the supervision of the Operations Manager, the Events Coordinator Officer will be responsible for the following duties:
* Support the team with logistics for meetings and events, both online and in-person. This includes facilitating information technology; coordinating with service providers; assisting in identifying and arranging venues, where required; supporting with invitations, registrations and logistical information to participants; and on-site event support.
* Perform event registration maintenance, including responding to participants’ questions, and providing updates to team and co-hosts where appropriate.
* Assist with the development of event support materials, such as invitations, flyers, logos, gadgets, and layouts in line with GANHRI identity and strategy.
* Assist the team in ensuring all event logistics are communicated to participants and partners (webpage, mailings).
* Resolve and/or coordinate IT related requests and support needs from team and participants, leading up to and during events.
* Meet and coordinate with team and external co-hosts and service providers as appropriate to plan and execute events in line with objectives and specifications.
* Assist the team in executing, monitoring, and overseeing events from preparation and set-up through teardown to ensure adherence to planned format, cooperation with service providers, resolution of issues, and overall satisfaction of participants and sponsors.
* Perform post-event tasks such as documenting and archiving materials; assisting with thank you letters and post-event surveys and evaluations.
* Assist with evaluating potential locations, and service providers, regularly to determine viability for future events and build a knowledge base for future events.
* Assist the team in resolving IT needs as required.
* Perform other tasks as required.
A successful candidate should bring:
* University degree or equivalent relevant professional experience in communications, events management, or business administration.
* 3 years of previous experience in event management, preferably large events in the context of international conferences or meetings. Experience in the non-profit/human rights field is welcome.
* Strong communications and customer service skills in a multi-cultural environment.
* Excellent command of both English (oral expression and writing) and at least one other GANHRI working language.
* Creativity and innovation.
* Exceptionally detailed and well-organised, and availability and capacity to work with activity peaks.
* Reliability and autonomy.
* Problem-solving abilities.
* Sense of diplomacy and responsibility.
* Demonstrated IT skills and proficiency in MS Office applications.
