LOGISTICS MANAGER
The logistics manager manages the flow of goods from procurement from suppliers, production or operations, to delivery to clients, while ensuring the rationalization and optimization of stocks, as well as the reduction of costs and delivery times thanks to monitoring and management tools.
QUALIFICATION
The profession is accessible from a level III or level II training specializing in transport-logistics or management-commerce, conducted by a business, management or engineering school. It can also be practiced without specific training but with professional experience. It is also accessible as part of continuing vocational training.
Fluency in a foreign language, especially English, may be required.
MAIN ACTIVITIES
The work is mainly carried out in an office but requires visits to storage locations and loading/unloading docks. The logistics manager may also be required to visit service providers.
Missions :
1. Coordinate the pick-up of goods according to production conditions
2. Take care of the storage of products, and ensure the planning of the distribution of goods
3. Ensure internal communication within the structure
4. Choose carriers if not defined by the end client
5. Manage disputes due to transport, and determine, if necessary, the actions to be taken
6. Organize the logistics chain
