Job Description
We are looking for a Prototyping Technician, Elastomers within our EMEA technical team to support the DuPont Kalrez product line. This business focuses on high-performance parts that provide sealing solutions in the chemical industry, life science, aerospace, energy, and electronics industries.
The ideal person for this position will fulfill the functions of polymechanic or micromechanic and laboratory technician, machining rubber tools or parts from rubber preforms. They will also be directly involved in the manufacturing of rubber parts from preforming down to finishing and dimensional measurement.
Responsibilities:
1. Rapid prototyping production of rubber parts for the validation of new concepts developed by engineers, using different techniques such as CNC milling, CNC lathe, 3D metrology, 3D printing.
2. Usage of 3D CAD/CAM software for the CNC in prototyping production and 3D metrology software for conducting tool and parts controls.
3. Performing material tests to characterize the physical properties of elastomeric parts, including analytical characterization.
4. Conducting special tests such as high-pressure and high-temperature sealing tests for elastomers.
5. Collaboration with engineers for the development of application tests, from design to test execution, in order to verify the performance of our parts in end-use situations.
6. Complete data generation program to support the promotion of Kalrez parts, create comprehensive test reports, and provide analysis of test results.
Requirements:
* Mechanical background required: knowledge in numerical lathe and milling as well as proven skills in CAD/CAM (Fusion and Mastercam preferred).
* Experience in rubber prototyping mold design and manufacturing desired.
* Ability to conduct laboratory tests highly appreciated, particularly mechanical and analytical testing.
* Knowledge of rubber rheology and physical testing an asset.
* Experience using pressure equipment (autoclave type) an asset.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks according to their priority.
* Ability to meet objectives while respecting deadlines.
* Good verbal and written communication to produce technical reports.
* Proactivity and team spirit.
* Language skills: fluency in French.
