For our client, a global industry group with more than 10,000 employees and a location in the Wil/St. Gallen area, we are seeking immediately or by arrangement a Software Development Engineer (100%). The job description reads as follows:
Responsibilities
* Manage and support important software development projects of the group.
* Evaluate software requirements and change requests, considering feasibility, complexity, impact on existing systems, and adherence to standards and guidelines, while assessing the feasibility of alternative solutions.
* Work on conceptual and functional development of challenging software projects throughout the whole lifecycle. Refine backlog items, code, test, document, and collaborate with operations as integral parts of the development process. Guide less experienced engineers and share knowledge.
* Critically assess implemented solutions and bring in new ideas. Identify and define continuous improvements in the development process and software architecture.
* Define the required technical and human resources, as well as the interfaces to peripheral systems.
* Analyze, design, and implement security measures.
* Implement and maintain software applications, components, and interfaces.
* Ensure third-level support, analyze, and fix bugs.
* Create concepts and implement software improvements throughout the software lifecycle.
* Support project execution for customer projects.
Requirements
* Technical education in software engineering (technical school, HF, FH, university of applied sciences, university).
* A few years of professional experience in software development, with a strong focus on software engineering such as backend and frontend development, object-oriented programming, .NET, Angular, and source control management (Git and Azure DevOps).
* Strong understanding of the Windows operating system and networks.
* Good knowledge of software design and architecture patterns.
* Fluency in English (at least level C1) and basic to medium German (at least level B1).
* Strong intercultural skills and understanding.
* Willingness to travel internationally up to 10%.
* EU/EFTA nationality and residence within a commutable area of Wil/St. Gallen, Switzerland, including areas near the Swiss border in Germany and Austria.
