Would you like to take your career to the next level? You will be able to bring your outstanding talents to Enterprise Networking, the engineering team at Cisco Meraki, building software powering networking platforms for applications such as routing, switching, wireless, cable access, and Internet of Things.
As an early career Software Engineer with a primary focus on embedded systems in our Ecublens office in Switzerland, you will develop and maintain wireless products and industry-leading software platforms with the aim of connecting and integrating devices, machines, and vehicles with traditional enterprise networks. You will have the opportunity to build high-performance, highly scalable, multi-cloud environments and distributed systems, end-to-end, and participate in the full software development lifecycle for large systems at scale.
Responsibilities:
1. Design and develop new features for our Wireless products.
2. Writing specifications, coding, unit testing, and integration of the code across multiple platforms.
3. Test simulated and real hardware in customer and scaled scenarios.
4. Contribute to unit automation, integration, feature, and system level testing.
5. Support and maintain the quality of the software, help customers debug issues and fix defects.
6. Plan, design, operate and improve continuous integration and automated testing systems; write, deliver, and maintain tests for the toolset.
Ideal Candidate:
1. University degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
2. Early career experience in student-level positions or internships.
3. Good understanding of embedded software.
4. Interest in networking, wireless, and IoT.
5. Thrives in a highly collaborative, inclusive, and agile atmosphere in partnership with multi-functional teams.
6. Keen to learn, grow, and evolve.
7. Proficient in writing software in C and C++.
8. Networking experience including TCP/IP, L2 and L3 protocols.
9. Familiarity with cloud and container technologies such as Docker.
10. Strong problem-solving skills.
11. Experience in testing, troubleshooting, and debugging.
12. Adaptable, proactive, and willing to take ownership.
13. Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills.
Bonus Skills:
1. Knowledge of Python, Java, and Kotlin.
2. Experience with real-time O/S and Unix/Linux development tools.
3. Understanding of Wireless Networking Technologies.
4. Experience with scripting and unit, integration test tools, and dashboards is a plus.
