As an individual contributor you will provide strategic and operational leadership for their respective audit teams leading to the delivery of engagements in their risk coverage areas. You will be responsible to cultivate and manage relationships with senior stakeholders in their business and/or functional areas across Biomedical Research, Development and Strategy & Growth, leading to enhanced awareness of strategic priorities, key risks and deeper business knowledge. Utilize data to support IA processes, which may include working with internal and external partners to ensure greater insight and valued outcome
About the Role
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure high quality audit and advisory engagements, in collaboration with the engagement clients across Biomedical Research, Development and Strategy & Growth, to foster simplification and enterprise mindset throughout the RDC continuum.
- Actively partner and support Functional Head Internal Audit in managing relationships with business, functional, and corporate functions stakeholders (global, regional, and/or local).
- Supervise audit and advisory plans from preparation to delivery ensuring proper execution and reporting of re-suits in line with Novartis IA methodologies and standards.
- Lead and/or support short- and long-term audit planning, resource requirements, and resource allocation corresponding to identified risks and priorities.
- Lead and/or support the preparation of a comprehensive risk assessment for their respective team that serves as a basis for future assurance plans.
- Support Functional Head IA in selection, training, and development of auditors by supporting and coaching during engagements and giving regular feedback.
- Ensure respective audit team execution supports simplification of key business processes aligned with the company's aspirations. Support Functional Head IA in highlighting risks, key insights, and trends to ACC reporting.
- Leveraging advanced analytics utilizing available data to enhance risk assessment, audit execution, insight sharing, and business partnering.
What you'll bring to the role:
Essential Criteria:
- University degree (Sciences, Engineering or other relevant qualification) or equivalent required. PhD, MBA, or equivalent are considered a plus.
- Strong experience of relevant business and/or functional experience within R&D. Experience in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology company required.
- Strong Internal Auditing experience – Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
- Business, functional, and/or operational acumen in related functions understanding company strategy and main risks
- Experience working in a matrix organization and building close relationships with 2nd line assurance/risk functions
- Fluent in English: oral and writing
Must have the ability to travel domestically/internationally (Max 20% travel)
