FairCapital is a mission-driven investment firm based in Pfäffikon SZ (Switzerland)) with local offices in Cali (Colombia) and Kigali (Rwanda). We provide financing solutions and consulting services to farmer organizations and other actors along the Fairtrade value chain in Latin America and Africa. In collaboration with established actors like Fairtrade Max Havelaar, we support high-impact enterprises in the southern hemisphere, ultimately reducing poverty in farming communities.
Our passionate team contributes to the evolution of the impact investment sector. We develop innovative financing solutions and work closely with mission-aligned partner institutions. FairCapital currently manages over
70 high-impact investments in Latin America and Africa, along with several financial consulting mandates and a fintech development project.
Role Description
We are looking for a recent university graduate who would like to grow professionally, while supporting the development of our innovative impact finance firm. The trainee will spend the first half of the traineeship at our Cali office to get familiar with our investment processes and core portfolio. The second half will be at our Kigali office to support our expansion in Africa. Some remote work for our Swiss headquarters will also be required. The position is planned to start in March-April 2025, with flexibility to discuss start dates with the ideal candidate. Requirements to apply
* Bachelor or Master’s degree in business administration, business development, marketing or similar
* Previous work experience preferred
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) expected
* Ability to design and formulate content for common communication channels
* Demonstrated interest in impact finance and new technologies
* Entrepreneurial spirit, teamwork skills and the ability to work independently
* Fluency in English and German required. Preference for candidates with advanced knowledge of Spanish and French
Specific responsibilities include:
* Participate in FairCapital’s business development activities with various tasks related to innovative financing solutions and the use of new technologies
* Support fundraising activities, including identifying funding opportunities, assisting with the process of securing financial resources, and engaging with investors
* Prepare, design and implement communication with investors and the public, including social media, newsletters, impact reporting, and client inquiries
* Enhance operational efficiency by supporting investor relations, accounting, and office management
* Learn to identify and analyze impact financing opportunities, support due diligence and monitoring processes of a high-impact investment portfolio
