Main goal
Responsible for leading the Volunteer project and acting as the main point of contact at the venue level, ensuring an exceptional, meaningful experience for approximately 250 stadium volunteers. The role involves providing the right number of volunteers with the appropriate skills, availability, and motivation for various projects, while assigning them efficiently and sustainably to meet the needs of the event.
Key responsibilities
* Promotion & Recruitment: Promote the Volunteer Programme both internally and externally, and support the completion of the recruitment process, including screening and interviews, for approximately 250 stadium volunteers at the venue level.
* Scheduling & Coordination: Develop and communicate shift schedules for all assigned volunteers at the venue, ensuring that each project is staffed with the right number of volunteers and receives the necessary support.
* Training & Events: Deliver a comprehensive training programme to fully prepare volunteers for their roles, and organise both a kick-off and a thank-you event at the venue to celebrate their participation.
* Volunteer Management: Oversee the Volunteer Centre, providing guidance and motivation to volunteers while ensuring all catering and transport needs are met.
* Stakeholder Management: Report to the UEFA Volunteer Project Leader in Nyon, ensuring the project’s goals are fully achieved. Liaise with local authorities and host city representatives at the venue level to align with project requirements.
* Staff Management: Manage the Venue Volunteer Assistant, providing leadership and support to ensure smooth operations.
Location
The successful candidate will be responsible for one of the 4 venues (i.e. Lucerne, Sion, St. Gallen, or Thun).
* April-June 2025: the position will be based mainly at the headquarters of Women's EURO 2025 SA in Nyon, but must be able to be physically present at the assigned venue on request.
* July 2025: based at the Volunteer Centre of the assigned venue.
Requirements
Experience and education:
* From 1 to 3 years working with volunteers.
* From 1 to 3 years working on local or international events, in sport or another domain.
* From 1 to 3 years experience of working with a volunteer management tool (e.g. Rosterfy) would be a massive plus.
* Master's degree in sports management or equivalent.
Languages:
* English / Proficient.
* German / Proficient and/or French / Proficient.
Other requirements:
* Organised, efficient and able to work independently, from a home office.
* Able to multitask effectively.
* Good knowledge of the venues and the local associative/sporting environment.
