Job Description:
The Position
We are looking for a new team member in our Systems Engineering group to help us ensure the development success of our complex diagnostics systems, consisting of fluidics, software, instrument, biochemical sensors and reagents. The person will own and manage system level topics and documentation mainly in the form of risk management, reliability, configuration, and support the alignment and integration of the different system components using Model Based Systems Engineering.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. Technical responsibility in key systems engineering disciplines for systems or complex system component development.
2. Technical accountability for systems engineering deliverables, such as risks, requirements, architecture, concept assessments, configuration management.
3. Contribution to systems engineering in product development projects.
4. Contribution and writing of development documents, such as: Product / Technical requirements, Traceability analysis (verification), Product risk analysis, configuration management.
5. Drive alignment between components development and integration into one system via interface definitions and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies.
6. Plan, coordinate, and support in execution of test series to evaluate system reliability.
7. Support system testing during design verification and validation activities.
8. Cooperation with other functions inside and outside the project in cross-functional activities, such as with HW and SW Engineering, Operations or Customer Support.
Expected Experience:
1. Bachelor / Master (BSc/MSc) in Mechatronics, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, natural sciences, or equivalent.
2. Practical experience in system integration by applying technical (engineering) skills, acting as a systems thinker, and focusing on the “big-picture”.
3. Fundamental knowledge of relevant methodologies used in systems engineering and model based systems engineering.
4. Experience with and understanding of multiple technology domains, methods, etc.
5. Background in development within a regulated environment, ideally in IVD(R) area.
6. INCOSE certification and/or model based systems engineering is a plus.
7. Practical experience with SysML in general or Enterprise Architect in particular a plus.
8. Experience in system integration of complex multidisciplinary systems a plus.
9. Advanced English language skills, German knowledge is a plus.
